Mansfield has held a royal market charter since 1227 and was historically the most important town in Sherwood Forest. Its later growth came from coal and textiles, and that heritage defines the housing stock: street after street of solid, affordable Victorian and Edwardian terraces alongside large post-war and modern estates — exactly the kind of stock that delivers strong yields and converts well to HMOs.
With around 98,000 residents (and a wider district of about 110,500), Mansfield is the largest town in the area and the natural commercial hub for north Nottinghamshire. The Robin Hood Line links it directly to Nottingham and to our own base in Worksop, while the A60, A617 and M1 (junctions 27–29) put Sheffield and Nottingham within easy reach. The town’s landmarks tell its story — the grand 1875 railway viaduct striding across the valley, the market place with its 1851 Cavendish Monument, and a church recorded in the Domesday Book.
